From November 1st to November 26th, OTTP-SF successfully hosted our annual Holiday Gift Drive. The Drive aimed to bring holiday cheer to underserved youth in the Bay Area, and the results were nothing short of remarkable. This year, OTTP-SF went above and beyond, giving almost 500 gifts to the clients we serve—a notable and significant increase from the previous year. This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community. Donors and supporters, from all over, came together, purchasing gifts and contributing monetary donations. Their collective efforts ensured that the spirit of the season reached even more young lives in need. For a closer look at the heartwarming reactions of youth opening their gifts, be sure to check out our December newsletter. Thank you for making the Holiday Gift Drive a source of warmth and happiness for those we serve.
On April 13th, 2023 OTTP-SF hosted our 5th Annual Youth Empowerment Fundraiser! The goal was to raise money to cover costs associated with a marked rise in requests for tutors, social enrichment, and assistance with document fees. The evening included food, live entertainment, speeches, an opportunity drawing, and an exciting online/live auction. Attendees shared that they had an amazing experience and we successfully raised over $35,000! Thank you to all the generous sponsors and donors who helped make this possible. Because of you, we will be able to increase access and equity and support the youth we serve to progress in their lives. OTTP-SF will continue to focus on "healing through doing" to assist youth clients in overcoming structural, environmental, and educational barriers, as well as discovering personal interests and strengths.
Last year, OTTP-SF launched its 2022 Holiday Drive! Throughout the month of November, people helped us spread holiday cheer by purchasing a gift for one of the young people we served. These gifts provided opportunities for engagement in therapeutic activities such as art, leisure, self-expression, skill-building, and more. Over 200 gifts were purchased for over 150 youth clients of OTTP-SF! Not a single youth was skipped or missed thanks to the support from the OTTP-SF Donor community.
On May 12th, 2022 OTTP-SF hosted our annual Youth Empowerment Fundraiser. The goal was to raise $50,000 so that we could continue providing mental health services to students at Ida B. Wells High School after a major school district funding cut, as well as support direct needs, such as providing food and basic living necessities. The evening included a silent and live auction, food, musical performances, and speeches. Attendees shared that they had a wonderful time, and we successfully surpassed our fundraising goal by bringing in more than $57,000! Thank you to all the generous sponsors and donors who helped make this possible. Because of you, students at Ida B. Wells will continue to have access to the services they need and deserve, and children, youth, and families throughout the Bay Area will continue to receive support for their direct needs.
On June 3rd, 2021 we hosted our 3rd annual Youth Empowerment Fundraiser, which was held virtually this year. More than 100 people joined us for an evening of art, music, words from our community partners, and live auction items. With the the support of our amazing community, donors, and sponsors, we were able to surpass our fundraising goal of $20,000. These funds will go directly toward supporting the youth and families we serve for the year to come. Read about our fundraising goals, our sponsors, and more in our 2021 2nd Quarter Newsletter!
On August 25th, 2020, we launched our Emergency Healing Fundraiser through GoFundMe Charity. Our goal was to make up for a potential loss of funding due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we hoped to raise $50,000. With the help of more than 100 amazing donors, and a generous matching gift from the San Francisco-based software company, Webflow, we are thrilled to share that we have nearly doubled our fundraising goal!
With the funds raised we will be able to provide additional services to children ages 3-5 in our Shoestrings program. This program provides children support in learning to regulate emotions and develop skills at school and at home to improve likelihood for future academic success.
In addition to expanding services within the Shoestrings program, we will also be able to maintain our current caseloads within our other programs as well. Furthermore, we will be using funds raised to create an incentive program for the youth that we serve and purchasing essential items to help them throughout the duration of the pandemic. Thanks to your support, no young person will have to go without our services!
